Welcome to the class on natural language processing with neural networks. This lecture sets the stage for the rest of the semester. In this lecture, we will see a broad introduction to why language can be an interesting object to model and why the representational power of deep learning can help.
This lecture will also lay out the policies and administrivia for this semester’s class.
