Welcome to the machine learning class. This lecture will introduce the basics of machine learning and set the stage for the rest of the semester. In this lecture, we will see how machine learning is an exciting and ubiquitous tool. We will look at the question of what is learning.
This lecture will also lay out the policies and administrivia for this semester’s class.
